Stupid Bose speakers...
So the speakers in my car have started to rattle because I listen to my sound sytem probably alot louder then what the factory system was designed for... Anywho, does anyone have recommendations on speakers that work well with the factory wiring... I have no desire to do any rewiring of the car, so, I would like something that will do with the original head unit and amp.
Thanks!
Thanks!
id say go back to factory speakers they are a good speaker, you have to think they are old anywhere from 6 to 8 years old the cones and foam start breaking down after time and use. the only down side to the factory speaker they are not cheep, the rear deck speaker on mine was $175 for one
Focal arent those the hand built french ones? or something like that and if they are they are a higher watt than stock so really I see no use in going to a more expensive speaker for no MAJOR improvement. you only really notice it at higher volume but then again you are looking at almost 450 for 2 of them if i am thinking about the same ones
BOSE uses there wonderful proprietary design of running at 1 or 2 OHMs... if you replace your door speakers with any other brand that runs at the industry standard of 4 OHMs, your hardly going to hear your music, let alone a possible whine or hum sound. You really only have two options to do it right. Buy replacement BOSE speakers, or go out replace everything from headunit/amp to speakers.

I replaced my speakers, with Focal in fact, and it sounded like crap. I did it up with new amps and a cleansweep as well, but it still had a loud hiss and one of the speakers "twittered." I ended up having to replace the head unit. I got a AVIC-Z2. Many thousands later, my system sounds awesome and it's so loud it makes your ears ring (without distortion). So, if you want it back to the way it was, go Bose. If you want something loud, replace everything, throw in a JL sub, etc.
