Suspension woes...need advice
04 S4, 19" ADRs, lowering springs (1" I believe) - I bought the car this way.
so, here's my issue:
1) the car has a slight shake a high speed (I don't think it's the wheels because I just had them trued and balanced)
2) there's hardly any suspension travel, a real PITA in the city - bottoming out on speed bumps (sometimes even when crawling), and makes some noise (wheel/wheel well?) when negotiating parking, etc.
3) rough ride - it's a bit too bouncy for my taste
4) plus all of the other crap that goes along with a lowered car - pain to get up driveways, etc.
The way I see it, I have 2 options.
1) replace with the stock springs - I'm just afraid that I'll loose the sporty look, especially with the 19" wheels. (cost - approx $250 + 4-wheel alignment). benefit - more travel, softer springs.
2) get coil-overs - there's a place near me that has some Tein Basic Coilovers (http://www.autotalent.com/product_in...roducts_id=355). the pro is that they have adjustable ride height and more travel. con - more money: approx $1100 + 4-wheel alignment).
I'm definitely more into the money savings of the spring replacement. but, I'm into the idea of the adjustability of the coilovers.
WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

RE: Suspension woes...need advice
Your vibrations at speed would lead me to believe it needs a good alignment , (im currently dealing with) Prolly got the ADR's and had some random tire center do the alignment and it wasnt correct, need to take it to the dealer for a better alignment.
