Third-Party Warranty
I just bought a 2001 S4 Avant with 110K miles. I got it way below book, even with the mileage adjustment. I've been offered a 2 yr/25K mile warranty for $2K. Covers engine (including turbos), transmission, drivetrain, steering, AC etc. Seems like a pretty good idea and there is no inspection required up front.
Any reason not to do it?

also make sure that you are clear on the terms of exercising the warranty for service. Find out what the deductible is, and if you can pay a little more for a $0 deductible, i highly recommend it. Few things on an audi cost less than 100 dollars to replace or fix
