took the s4 to deserted lot and tried some acceleration runs with a Tazzo analyzer. its a cool toy that looks like a radar detector but can give 0-60, 60-0, 1/4 mi, rear wheel hp, etc.

with 3 people and 3/4 tank got 6.1 sec 0-60 leaving trans in sport, left foot on brake until 3500 then let it run out. probably get it into hi 5 sec with empty car and harder launch. had to leave so no other data to report.

will try again on turkey day and post more results.

went back to the parking lot for another try and got a very disappointing 6.38 sec 0-60 with 3/4 tank gas and 3 people. let my son try and for his 1st ever attempt at drag racing any car (he's 17), he rips a very nice 5.85. we had to leave but i think he could get to 5.5 without passengers and low gas. also got a 125 foot 60-0 distance. i dont know how that compares to its potential yet. anyone have car and driver mag braking data?

has anyone elso ever tried any of this??

 

figured out what i did wrong, i think.
left esp on which must have cut the power and given a slow launch time.
will try without it on next.

 

sounds like fun. Im not sure about the data though. The car isnt really menat for striaght lines thou, its just begging for a road course or a nice windy road.
