auto or manual?

If it is manual, you are looking at a new clutch is my guess...

sounds like a new clutch is on the way, and the 2nd gear thing might be the sign of needing a rebuilt tranny in the future.

Sorry im kinda ignorant when it comes to a stick bc ive been driving a trip bmw for 3 years. So when im just crusing and give it gas the rpms jump and then slide back down then it starts to pick up. Im having a big ordeal with the dealership I bought the car from. I got a warranty with it but they are being dumbass's about it and are telling me they sent it into the warranty company but then i call the warranty company and they tell me that they havnt gotten it yet. In the meantime I cant drive the car bc its doing this so bad. I drove it about 100 ft up the road and back and when i got back to the house it smelt like i had burned the hell out of the clutch and it smelt like i was burning brakes too. So yall think it is the clutch and that I will need to replace it?

yeah, I agree with them...Definitely a slipping clutch. I've had the same thing happen to me before as well.

Ok well my uncle and I came up with this. I have an oil leak and its leaking from the back of the engine...the main seal from the tranny to the engine...and the oil is leaking onto my clutch. So monday I am taking into the shop. I am going to have to pay for a new clutch, bc that isnt covered under warranty...but the rest I should have under warranty, if anyone was wondering i got it sorted out and they are sending me money for a rental car untill my car comes out of the shop. and my warranty goes into effect on monday, if anyone is interested. And thanks for all the advice
