Nice man glad everything worked out! Thanks for the info too - that should come in handy if/when I take on that challenge (hopefully when). But man I gotta ask how the hell can you guys afford all this sht? I have tons of college loans to pay off and rent to pay here in Philly and any money left after that I SHOULD be saving for a house, which leaves little to no "fun" money for things like this. I thought being an engineer at Boeing I'd be pretty well off but thats clearly not the case so far haha.. But anyway enough of my complaining. So all in all, ballpark, how much did the whole upgrade cost you?

So you're Stage 3-? Stock injectors on 5bar. I really think this is an under-rated approach. Are you happy with the change versus your earlier Stage 2+? Can you log it?

Also, my guess is I owe you a tee shirt.

Hey sorry for the delay just drove it up north to visit family and let me tell you boy is that car fun. Had an intercooler hose fly off mid trip and got some new high torque clamps. However now that I was able to really open it up Im pretty sure I got a boost leak. It will hold up to around 10 pretty good but after that it seems to drop unless i'm full throttle. Even with the leak I smoked a Porsche thinking they could keep up . Very noticeable improvement from stage 2+. I got a complete ebay hose kit (around 100 bucks) I shoulda put it all in when I did the swap but live and learn. I'm just hoping it's not a leak where the turbo connects to the inlet or the other hose that comes off turbo way down in there. Would I have to basically pull the motor to get to that? Or you think I could squeeze my way in? I'm building a boost pressure tester to see if it's any of the smaller hoses. Gunna try and get to it this weekend if i got time. I'm going to go see if any local places has a vag com cable tomorrow (radio shack?) and buy ross tech's software. Once i get some logs I'll prolly see that it's spiking droping spiking(boost leak) so once I get that resolved i'll post em. All together It was around 4k including miscellaneous stuff that comes up also I went with a lightweight flywheel but you can get your old one resurfaced and use that. I also bought everything new instead of taking my time to find it on audizine. Lets just say I won't be buying a house anytime soon lol but at least I can go fast. I still got the stock exhaust with piggies its a sleeper big time but my turbos need to breath, I've been waiting to try and find a used milltek twin 2. Here's a more complete parts list of mine. Hope it helps.

damn those intercooler hoses!! i had the same issue with my samco kit. heavy duty clamps everywhere now. is your tune supposed to be at 10psi peak or is that because of the leak?

you can use the free ros-tech software w/ the cable and you'll be fine. not sure if you'll have to pull the engine if thats where the leak is. is there a way to remove the exhaust mani or reach if from under the car? my engine is still out of the car so i have nothing to look at.

Build sounds sweet though. you should but some cut-outs on after your piggies instead of getting an exhaust for the ultimate sleeper.

not sure if you have this already, but very helpful none the less.

Yeah sorry I believe my Vasts tune is running around 21psi max. However it just doesn't seem smooth to get there. Sometimes it will drop even while accelerating. But if I go full throttle I can get it to max out.

Awesome, I'm going to get a cable today and call up a buddy to borrow his laptop and find a straight away to get some logs.

WOW cut-outs that would be f'ing awesome. With electric cuttouts you could just open on the fly and blow doors lol. That's a good idea I think I might do that. I'll start searching the forums but whats a good cutt-out brand? Oh yeah and awesome general s4 link thanks!

*Update*
Just finished installing the silicon hose kit I got off ebay (minus the top intercooler hoses cuz I didn't feel like taking the front off again lol but it will happen). Man that F-hose is one pain in the ***, getting those damn factory clamps off was frustrating to say the least but I found a tool that works awesome at breaking those *******. There a type of wiring cutters I forgot the name here's a pic to help anyone else trying to get those freaking clamps off.

I also found a small coolant leak and replaced the 50 dollar hose lol. Basically made sure all my clamps were tight and added some zip ties to the hoses that come off the DV's. Where ever that leak was I'm pretty sure I got it, it's running a whole lot better now. Actually feels like its building boost a whole lot better then time to hold on lol. However there's no place to really open it up like I'd like to where I'm at right now (lots of traffic) but this weekend I'm going to the country roads to visit my parents and can test it completely. I'll post some logs when I'm up there.

Ok after driving today it's still acting weird but better. I finally got my buddies laptop over here and found the code p1455 - Exhaust gas temperature sensor 1 G235 - Implausible signal. Now that's my drivers side EGT correct? I'm not getting any warning lights or nothing on dash but it finds it in vag-com. Before doing my k04 install I didn't have a vag-com cable and never ran a full test so I don't know if it may have been out before. However when installing the turbo on that side the hose that has a bend in it that comes off of it didn't seem like it set properly (wasn't totally flush on the pipes) but with clamps on it I thought it would be fine. If that was leaking would it cause that EGT code to be thrown? I'm pretty sure I may have to yank the motor again =( to replace/make sure that hose is on there ok. But on the other hand I don't wanna spend 250 bucks on a EGT sensor that I don't need. I gotta drive my sis from the airport up north 4hr drive on friday and would like to get this figured out. Tomorrow I'm going to put it on jack stands and see if I can get to that hose at all but if not I'll prolly just fork out the money and replace that EGT and hope it doesn't throw the code again. Any suggestions? I'm gunna repost this on audizine cuz i'm kinda on a time frame here thx guys.

egts will def cause a problem. and no, thats the pass side egt. 123 cyl on pass side and 456 on the drivers. hose off would def barely run. id guess egt, they will glitch and cause poor running and black smoke/misfires and all. call up shokan and get a sensor from them. stage 3 here for almost 1.5-2 years and their egt's have worked perfect for me.

or.. just look up classifieds in audizine or here for one. i think romney has one for sale (jibberjive)
