What should I get, a Valentine One or Beltronics STi? I know that many of you use Valentine One. However, I found bad news for V1 owners in Virginia. I watched a video in which Spectre III RDD detects Valentine One (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGNHqKnIYXQ). Now, I am wondering if I should get the recommended V1 or go with the stealth STi (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3LIa7_m_hJA) since I live in Virginia. Can anybody speak from experience? What is the fine for radar detector in Virginia?

 

i have a beltronics...i got rid of my escort to get it....its amazing. i dont even have the STi, i just have the 995. by far the best i have ever used. I am not a fan of the valentine...

 

I have the Bel. RX-65 Pro which is the STI without the shielding. It works great with only a few false alarms. I think the V1 would have saved me a ticket though. I was driving through an area where I usually get a false alarm and I was distracted because my phone was ringing. Instead of braking I let off the gas and the next thing I know I'm through a speed trap going 12 over.

The V1 probably would have saved me because its directional indicators help to indicate false alarms and when you should brake.

After getting used to the RX-65 a little more I think I've got it figured out. X-band is always false. 1 K band is usually false. 1 Ka band is probably a cop. 2 or more bars of anything but X-band means SLOW DOWN.

I'm keeping my RX-65 but I kinda wish I had the V1 if only to save me that one ticket.

 

What is that super high end beltronics? remote mounting fornt and back and hiden dispay, has like scanner jammer for Everything under the sun. RX-1...soemthing pro or whatnot. But yea i heard that one was extremely good but comes with the 1K + price tag

 

I have the Escort passport 8500. always gives me fair warning. but I live in the country. But I've always wanted a V1

 

Also i got the best radar detector haha my eyes they can see before u ding. and for highways always have a copilot and pair of binoculars hahah Highspeed desert running, cant wait till i run the aka Rally.

 

V1 get it.

 

Thats what iv heard too. Other high end detectors do a terrific job, comparable to the V1, but the V1 is just so tested and proven, plus i believe you get free software upgrades for life.

But if laws in your area make you think another brand would better suit your needs, it would pretty much give you the same results
