warrenty info on 2001 s4
so, i have been scanning the local autotrader and cars.com online listings every couple of days. found a 2001 S4 with about 45k miles, 5 speed tip, and miraculous condition (1 owner car), for 18k. it is at another dealer (not an audi dealer). i think it is out of original factory warrenty, but my question is, is there an extended warrenty on this car? if not can i buy one from an audi dealership or will i have to go with an aftermarket warrenty?and how much would it cost? and how long the warrenty would last for? keep in mind it is a 2001 car, and it is now currently the year 2007...so 6 years old already...thanks for any help u all can provide.
Since its under 50k its eligible for a extended warranty from audi. I was quoted for $5000 for a warranty to 100,000 miles or $3000 to 75k. Yea pretty pricey. I shopped around for aftermarket warranties and I found one with insane coverage for $2800 to 100k. The plan included a wear and tear package along with normal coverage.
If you plan on modding the car at all, DO NOT get the extended warranty. My buddy is the used car manager and he said a chip would void it and even just some exhaust would void it. With aftermarket you have a little more room to wiggle around.

A lot of places will not warranty a 2.7t. The ones that do, charge a lot. IMHO, if you have a really clean, well cared for car, put the money into a saving account.
Also, it's hard, really hard to keep the car stock, so factor that in also.

Yea, mine was suppose to be a DD, & stay stock. That lasted for about a week.

. Got wheels, tires, suspension done, looking to do chip, DV's, and exhaust when I get back form vacation. I plan on stopping there, because I dont have the money to even begin to go past stage 2. A 325 HP beast will be more then enough for me
Btw I have an aftermarket warranty, cost me around 2500$ for 3 yr wear and tear (including all seals and gaskets). It came with the car when I bought the car from a private owner and is transferable, but here is the trick. If you are buying/bought an S4 with over 65000 miles, I would recommend one of these warranties because I guarantee you that you will get over 2500$ worth of repairs out of it in 3 years (unless you plan to do everything yourself).
yeah i was looking at a 2001 silver s4, black interior, 40k miles for $17,900....but i think it might be sold though...
i did however manage to locate a 2001 black s4 with 67k miles and suede (white?) interior for $15,000...
i have an aftermarket warrenty on my 03 accord as well as the factory 100k powertrain warrenty...kinda overdoing it, but this thing has already gotten a new transmission (started slipping at 72k) and been in the shop once for power steering pump squeeling. sure its a honda, but the 7th gen accord v6 transmission is honest to god a peice of ****
