Weird Tranny Problem 0_o
Aight, so Ive had this 2001.5 B5 S4 AUTO for roughly three weeks now.... Anyways, I'm on my way back home from Orlando (1 hr trip) almost out of the city. I literally just drove by the audi dealership where I bought the car (thank god) and my transmission display on the gauge cluster all highlights (goes back into drive display, all the modes are highlighted red), check engine light goes on, transmisson won't shift at all, just stuck in 2nd. So I pull over, restart the car, does the same thing (mind you it only happens in tiptronic, car shifts weird but driveable in auto mode, very delayed shifts). So I dropped the car off at the audi dealership (around like 11:00 PM, yay for drop box)
Also previously, the transmission was kicking hard in first/second from launches or quick acceleration and would literally lunge forward. It felt literally like someone was whacking the drivetrain with a sledgehammer and would make a dull thud sound.
I'm just curious if anyone has had a simillar problem, what it was, and how much it cost to replace it. Or if there is something that can be upgraded to be more reliable/performance oriented.
-Thanks

metal shavings are quite normal ( wearing in process ) that's why there is a magnet on the plug but for it to surge as you say then its pressure related so could be fluid loss from the tranny ( which you should see ) so check it out
