The gray plastic device with one electrical plug in the rear. It'son the driver's sidein line with the fuel lineabove thefuel rail. Anyhow, I was changing out my leaky coolant expansion tank and noticed that it is unplugged. I can't imagine why. Is this bad? Should I just plug it back in? No CEL and no driveability issues have shown in the 3 months that I've owned it.

Oh yeah, I own a 2001 S4 TIP (was stock when purchased 3 mos. ago) with an APR stage one ECU....
other mentionables arehyperboost dv's, samco tbb, and boost gauge , which are all irrelevant concerning this.

I have no clue what you are talking about. Can you post a pic. Are you talking about the rear of the car, or rear of the engine bay?

 

2k if hes messing with the coolant expansion tank, i htink hes talking engine bay area.


by the by, is it just like a dummy plug for a 6 speed maybe? did u look to make sure it had pins inside it and everything?

It's the N249 valve, it controls the DV's & it should throw a cel. It should be plugged in.

 

Thanks a lot. Do you think any damage could have been sustained from this? I could hear the DVspurging upon lifting beore I hooked it back up. No CELs other than an 1131 that was cleared when I had my APR program installed about 2 months ago they said it was a intermittant O2 fault.

 

I doubt it, & you really should not hear the DV's.
