What do I need to upgrade to k04 turbos on my 01 s4. I found a decently priced kit that had 2 k04 turbos and inlet pipes. What else do I need?

 

fueling/tuning, fuel pump, bigger intercoolers or FMIC, at least 710n diverter valves, at least ebay silicone hose kit, 3 inch dp's, southbend stage 3 or better clutch kit, or vast, whichever you prefer, or clutchmasters.. look up marc or search 10secondS4 if you want to go good and cheap.. or look into JHM, VAST, SSP, or EPL for tuning as well.. APR is too conservative and expensive.. AWE is pretty good but expensive...

 

hmm seems kind of spendy right now ha. Would K04's be the next step on my audi? I bought it last week at 60k miles with full exhaust, downpipes, "chip" he said he didnt know what kind... is there a way to figure that out? and a turbo timer. Everything is working perfectly so I dont know if I am willing to spend over 5k in parts. Is there anything left for me to do to give it a little more power?

 

do you have a boost gauge? id hook one up if not and see what type of psi your putting out.. you can throw some water/methanol injection in there and gain prolly 60 crank horsepower with the setup you have now if you are chipped.. 365 or so from VAST or JHM..

 

yeah I have a boost gauge on my a pillar. it says about 13 psi

 

um.. sounds like a boost leak.. if your chipped you should be getting at least 17 psi, 18.5 or so with an aggressive file.. buy a pressure tester or build one.. AWE has one for like 30 bucks or something.. i guess you could have a valet mode that it could be in ... but i havent heard of a file that does 13 psi....

 

I know this might be a stupid question but are you wanting to go to K04 for more power or just to have reliable turbos?
