What do you use for Winter wheels on RS4?
Need to quickly find something and want to drop from the 19" to 18". Was told at tire place that it might be problem since brakes are so bigand would require spacers, Which he does not like doing. Any suggestions would be appreciated

you could go online and find the cheapest set of wheels you can........ how many months are you running them?
for the price of wheels and wear and tear, might be cheaper to just find a winter beater.... even an old audi quattro for the winter

Problem is I need to find an 18" tire that will clear the brakes. If I was sticking with 19" I would do what you suggested. Do have a truck at home for driving if it's real bad but I'm tired of putting my fun cars away for the winter

Hmm those must be some pretty big breaks if you cant fit 18" wheels over them...Just thinking because you can fit 18"s over a big break kit, why would rs4 brakes be bigger? Does he KNOW the wheels wont fit? Maybe they do.... IMO running spacers isnt a big deal either.

ok, so 18 in wheels will fit, then get some fliks for the winter........ not the best on a rs, but for a couple of months, who cares........... and a 16in tire will clear your brakes, but you won't be able to drive without the wheels on....... lol
so morale of the story is, if an 18 in wheel will fit get the cheapest wheels you can...... might even look into steelies

HAHA steelies on an RS4, please give her more than that! I dont know that an 18" wheel will fit but is there anyway you can just take of one of your wheels off and put an 18 on to see if it fits?
Edit: And i agree with you theres no reason you should have to put away your fun car in the winter I bet its gonna be even more fun IN the winter!

here are the brake specs:
Ventilated, cross-drilled brake discs of 14.4 inches at the front and 12.8 inches at the rear are specified for fade resistance and for optimum braking performance. Special 8-piston calipers at the front wheels, together with single-piston calipers at the rear, improve braking response significantly
i would think you could do 18's...... and then you could go with something like the fliks....... you have the black one right?
