what service is done at 96000km? b5 s4
hey guys, fairly new to the site here and i was wondering what all needs to be serviced at 96000km or 60000 miles. I am sitting at about 97,000 now and need to keep the maintenance up. If anyone can help me out that would be great,
Check the TBB for tears around where the clamp attaches. Test your DVs to make sure they're functioning correctly. The 60,000 mile mark is the beginning of the range (60,000 miles - 90,000 miles) where it's suggested that you replace the timing belt. If you're doing the timing belt job then you'll want to have other things serviced along with it. The FAQ has more helpful info about common questions along these lines.

awesome thanks so much man! i really appreciate it. sorry for the noob questions audi is trying to **** me around with a redicilous price or this 96k service, basically just wanted to see what i can and cant do myself. thanks again!
There's a kit you can buy from ECSthat has everything you need. I bought one that was slightly more expensive and includes the cam locking tool and the fluids. The guy that did the work charged me around $500. So the total cost was about $1,000. You might be able to find someone who can do it locally if you buy the kit. It's so expensive because they have to take the front of the car appart. While they're in there you might as well have them replace what could need it, hence the kit. Good luck!
