I just bought a new K&N air filter for my 2005 S4. Small problem - I can't find the air filter. Looked everywhere: the manuals says nothing, the web search resulting in nothing as well.

Anybody can give me a hint and possibly directions for the air filter replacement on 2005 S4.

Its on the left side of the block (engine) in a big black box. Just a simple clip holding the box closed, remove and replace... Simple!

 

simple? don't make the guy feel bad

 

I would suggest that if you can't identify the airbox, you should not be changing out the filter.

It's not the easiest to get at, or swap out.
