Default You Call This Sound?

I've got to be doing something wrong. There's a hidden EQ that's somehow messed up or my sub is disconnected, right?

A) I didn't know the S4 could come without Bose, but there are no Bose emblems on my speaker grilles. Any thoughts?

B) How is Audi going to knowingly put out a $50k+ car with a stereo this underwhelming?

Failing user error, do any of you B6ers have some advice for upgrades? I'd love to put my B5's Bose sub in the B6, but I'm guessing aftermarket might be easier...right?

Yes, I searched .

Get an aftermarket exhaust, thats the only sound you need!

As for bose, i guess that was part of the infotainment package allong with audi telematics (i think a $1000 option) You must have the standard system.

Bose & non-bose stuff generally dont get allong too well so the bose sub from your A4 might not work with your non-bose B6.

Aftermarket would be better...

yess4 is giving away his bose stuff for free if you look a couple threads down, they might allready be spoken for but you might also be able to work your female charm.

Good luck

Yeah. I was trying to snag those, but he hasen't replied. You are more then welcome to them if I'm the first "bidder" I don't NEED them. However, there are some killer systems out there like ALPINE. I'm sure they have some stuff that would go nicely in your B6.

Aftermarket is definitly the way to go!

My bose speakers are made of paper and cheap glue so they blow and the dust caps fall off and it sounds like theres a family of mexicans in my trunk playing maracas

hahahaha. I had that for a while. I geuss it just went away. I was just looking at the Alpine site and could probably get a really decent system going for under 1000.

Hate the way bose speakers sound... I'm replacing all of mine w/ boston accoustics and a custom head unit. Bose hasn't made good speakers since the early 90's... Sad but absolutely true.

I tried putting aftermarket speakers in with my Bose head unit and the results were NOT good. I had a CleanSweep which is supposed to defeat all the Bose BS and emit a clean signal for regular speakers, but it didn't work out. I ended up replacing my entire system. Pioneer AVIC-Z2 head unit (nav, DVD, bluetooth, etc), JL amps, JL sub and Focal door speakers. Couldn't be happier, but it was pretty costy.

Sorry, my old Bose speakers are spoken for.

Also remember, Bose "speakers" use a different resistance, I believe lower (I haven't tested this, but ask around), so they will overdrive the hell out of your amp/head unit/whatever powers it unless it is also Bose brand.

A regular sub will do you well. Crutchfield is running a special I think, they had the Boston Acoustics G5 series on sale (2 for 1) and I put two G512's in the trunk, now I don't worry as much about when I get around to replacing the 12 or so speakers, amp, and head unit, in one go.

Welcome to B6 world! Curiously, how much did your insurance take a hit for if you don't mind my asking, going from an A4 to an S4?

Wow, ever been to Los Angeles? This is exactly what it's like to drive anywhere and see Mustang drivers. Or Honda CRX drivers... or drivers of unmarked vans.

Basically what I'm saying is that there's lots of Mexicans with bad stereo systems.
