Default Trade in my BMW 325 for an S4?

Okay so i'm new to the site, this is my first posting so go easy on my. I have a slight dilemma on my hands. About 3 months ago i purchased a 2002 BMW 325xi with 140,000 miles, but had the engine rebuilt at 100,000 so everything is mechanically fine and the car runs great. The car is 100% to my desires as far as looks go, black 18's, angel eye lights, mtech 2 bumper. But the car is just a little to sluggish for me through 1st and 2nd gear. Now, i found a turbo kit for it, and was planning on putting a new intake and exhaust through it. But after looking at costs it just seems more effective to buy a new car all together. The Audi s4 seems to be exactly what i want, but at the same time i only have what i can sell my current car for + maybe 1 grand to put into a new car, so i could probably find an s4 in that price range with about 100,000 miles, but is that risky with that many miles on a performance engine? I know buying any used car is like playing russian roulette, but would an S4 be alot more maintenance compared to my current 325 or even an a4? Just wanted to know what everyones thoughts are and maybe some advice as to what i can do do get a higher performing car maybe 250hp is all i'm asking for, certainly not a car expert, just wanted a little help. Thanks.

Also, I'm 20 years old. I'm not wanting a fast car to show off to anyone, i just l want a little more power under the hood. I raced motocross for years so I think thats where my need for something a little quicker comes from.

this is a 12+ year old, twin turbo'd, german sports sedan.....yes, maintenance is going to be an issue. Staying up to date with this car is a bitch. unless youre going to do a turbo upgrade and "car refresh", youre just gonna blow the stock turbos and a fat wad of cash getting it all back together.

Dont get me wrong the B5 S4 is one hell of a car! worth every penny once its all sorted. Even with a fresh set of K03's(stock turbos) and a tune the car hauls. its a project though, so be warned. For the price you are looking to spend you will probably have to put in a good amount of work/money to get the car ship shape.

You might want to look into, maybe, an E36 M3, Subaru WRX, B5 A4 1.8t or VW Gti. Not many cars, for the price, are gonna net you 250hp without mods.
