Default Why V6T?

I love my 2014 S5, but one thing has been bothering me since I've had it: why is a car with a supercharged V6 badged with a "V6T"?

From what I have read, it's not for turbo or supercharger. It's for the TFSI version motor.

Another reason I've heard is Audi didn't want to have "V6S" badges because it might be confused with "S" as in S4, S5, etc..... No idea if that's true but with German's you never know.

I vaguely remember reading an article a number of years ago about why they stayed with "T" even though it wasn't a turbo anymore. I don't remember the specifics, but it was along the lines of, "it's forced induction either way, so screw it, we'll do what we want."

It just makes more sense to badge it as a 3.0S rather than a 3.0T. IMHO T's should be reserved for real turbo engines like the 2.0T and 2.7T.
