Catalytic converters. HELP!
So, I'm pretty sure the emissions system on my car is shot, ie cats.
Audis dumb parts department closes at 4:30, so Im going to get a price from them on cat/down pipe assys. tomorrow.
But here is what I found online so far.

Not feeling the davidco or the benchmark crap, but what about Bosal and catco. Ive heard of both of those brands, but would they make the computer happy?
Also what about the easterm brand? any good? 50k warranty, but again, will it pass the computers finiky parameters?
Aftermarket stuff is between 340 and 380 per side. Like I said, I'll find out what Audi gets for cats, Im looking at over 700 bucks aftermarket, but I do not want to waste my money on somthing that wont cut the mustard.
Thanks for your input, Matt.

If you go with aftermarket, you may get a CEL within 5-10 miles, but it actually goes away after the cat/s start/s doing what it/they suppose to do.
I don't know about Audi, but I got the entire exhaust replaced on my Elantra, last May, with Bosal parts bought from RockAuto. The parts fit snug and I have no "leaking" problems. I got a CEL within 1 mile, but after a "turn off" - "turn on" cycle the CEL disappeared on its own and never returned.
The parts still have the "new part" look, even after 7 months. At least that's what I know about Bosal. I would buy anytime their parts.
About the other manufacturers, I have no idea what to tell you.

Thanks for the input. I might try the guted cats with 02 sensor spacers method. Ive heard that it can work over on AZ, (no MIL) and its the cheapest way to go.
Nice to hear good things about Bosal.

No problem.
Actually all of the parts (Exhaust manifold + Cat, Flex pipe, and Intermediary - Resonator pipe, and gaskets) came to around $ 388 shipped (I kept my old muffler since was still good) and were direct fit. Overall it was a pretty decent deal.
Just like you though, I would dredge to pay at least $ 700 for the Audi cats... if you can gut'em and drive like that in Mizura, go for it.
