Default brake lights stuck on

So I was installing a boost gauge ( just the vacuum line not the wiring for the gauge lights ) and after I got the line routed I noticed my brake lights were on I tried playing with the pedal and turning the lights on/off a few times but they just stay on like im pressing the pedal I pulled the connectors off them so they wont drain my battery over night anyone have an idea of what I mighta done to get them stuck on?

It has an electrical connector on it, the switch itself is just twisted in, no tools necessary to replace it. You need to take off the panel under the steering wheel to get to it though, 8mm bolts i believe.

you can try cleaning it, theypick updirt and stuff from your feet and get sticky. The plunger on it is proboably stuck, not hard to remedy.

those switches wear out. mine did the same thing, and then eventually it finally wore down so much that it just stayed on and drained my entire battery while i was at work (i never noticed because it was super bright out).

The switch was like 10 bucks at the audi dealer and was super easy to change. You can tear it apart and see how much it is worn down, too.
