It has nothing to do w/ pride. Pride doesn't stop someoone whose faster than you from beating your ***. ANY GXP Pontiac would pull the OP's ride. From his words, it's fairly obvious it was a Solstice. And they would yank the hell out of an A4. That's really all there is to it.

 

It could have been a G6 GXP - Pontiac's website claims 252 HP. It goes 0-60 in 6.9 sec, so the A4 2.0T would be able to tie it, at worst, anything higher from Audi would smoke it.

 

Well thanks for all the feedback guys, i have been putting off responding hoping to come across the car again. I know a little more than most every day people about cars and was positive it wasnt any solstice/sky or any V8 pontiac. I ran into the guy at a car wash close to where we ran, the car is a V6 G6 with 250+ hp, his only mods are K&N filter, and lowering springs. He said he would have pulled me if he didnt have his 250lb brother in the car that night. He also has 19'' rims and 2 12's in the trunk. So i guess the outcome was right if you add the weight of rims/brother/speakers. Again, thanks for the comments, i just didnt want to respond without a little more of an idea of what i ran. Just to add a little to this , two days ago a kid that lives in our community wanted to run me in his RSX-S, mods are I/h/e and a tune. Now this is where i get a little confused, this car comes stock with what, 210hp?? Now you add the mods which would maybe give him 20hp over stock, but tq is still going to be what, 160/170?? Well we went from a 20mph roll and he just left me, prob 4-5 cars by 100mph!! I figured i would have done a little better after the outcome of the G6 race.

 

he could've lied to you maybe? I dunno if he is chipped it sounds a little more reasonable. I raced my 2001 a4 1.8tq 5spd no mods along side a 05 bone stock rsx-s 6spd and he barely pulled me by about 3-4 lengths so I don't know what was up. He did have a little spin in the beginning but nothing that would've hindered him too much.

 

Well I do have pride yeh a GXP maybe faster but my Audi has 98k miles and it hasn't fallen apart yet, like my old GP. So thats really all there is to it for me.

 

You know, I'm not gonna lie, I forgot about the G6 GXP. They fail pretty hard. They're not that slow, espec from a roll, but his wheels and system are hurting him for sure.

As for your loss to the RSX, that's no surprise at all. The K20 responds very well to mods, and w/ an intake, header, exhaust, and tune, he's making way more than 20hp over stock. Prolly closer to 50. The thing w/ those engines is that when you tune them, you can lower the point at which VTEC kicks. Dropping it down to like 3.5-4K makes a world of a difference, trust me. Bolt-on RSX's are no joke, espec from a roll. And they're beasts when boost comes into play. Honorable death.

The Pontiac driver must have gotten cold feet when you floored it. I own a 2.7t stage 2 Allroad and a pontiac grand prix GTP (240 hp stock). My friend as an A4 and another friend has a highly modded 1.8t Jetta. My brother has a pontiac solstice and the Pontiac's smoke all the Audi's and VW's badly. Though the GTP is modded a stock GXP would be around the level of the my GTP. Throw a Turbo and exhaust on that GXP and you can get into the 11's in the 1/4.

 

oops, I just realized there was a 2nd page and that you identified it as a GXP G6. Those are a disgrace to the GXP badge. The A4 is strongest from a rolling start when the turbo's chipped and you have supporting mods
