um scg87 I was speaking about deeks first post in which he mentioned the worked mustang that you yourself said should easily be well into the 13s.......the z depending on the model and year is usually around low low low or even flat 14...maybe breaking into the 13s....thats what i was saying neither your z or a basic a4 should be able to beat that......as for the wrx even a 2002 does a 1/4 mile in low 14s maybe like 14.3 so that could be a drivers race cause the launch will be better in the wrx over a 350z....my point was about his a4, but come to mention it every post your in u seem to think the z is the ****......its fast for sure but there are quite a few cars that can beat it in drag races...and thats what this particular section is about.....no disrespect towards you or your car as i actually quite like the z and have test driven it...not what im looking for but a great car nonetheless.....just saying for the street strip section of this forum there are alot of cars mentioned that should easily beat the z

later

I'm sorry if I gave you the impression, that I think my car is the ****. I by no means think it's the greatest car on earth, or anything like that. I misunderstood your post, that's all. It just seems like every time I post something about a race in the Z, I getjumped for it. I know there are way faster cars running around, I just usually don't get the chance to race them. WRX's are for sure decent cars, performance wise. But AWD can hurt one from a dig as much as it can help them. I see way too many people in Evo's and WRX's lose races they should've won, because they bogged the hell out of their cars out of the hole. AWD isn't as big an advantage as many people seem to think. Yeah, w/ a good driver, they'll always take RWD and FWD out of the hole. But it's all too easy for these guys to dump the clutch at 6000rpm, or bogging it off the line and throw a race away. From a roll, however, regular WRX's aren't too much to worry about.

Check the sig before you go jumping to conclusions, and really get on my bad side. Look, I never called you a liar, disrespected you, or anything like that. I simply spoke the truth. The new WRX's ARE quicker than the older ones (I'm not arguing that), but the performance difference is small at best. It would take a great driver to pull off such better performance numbers than the older models. And the simple fact is, most WRX's drivers are average. So in the real world of street racing, the new WRX's don't really pose that much more of a threat than the older ones. That's all I'm trying to say, damnit. Chill out man, no one here is trying to bust your *****.

RE: a4 1.8tQ
The problem probably lies in the fact that since the newer ones have an extra .5l in displacement, and such a small hp increase, they're tuned somewhat modestly. Therefore, the newer 2.5l cars probably respond to mods better.

RE: a4 1.8tQ
oh well i just found out last night that the wrx that i raced the other night had exhaust, bov, and a mbc that was set at 15 to 16psi and he said stock they are at around 11psi, so i guess thats why i thought it was so fast.

RE: a4 1.8tQ
Yeah, that'll do it. Evo's push 15psi stock. And they're damn quick. That guy's WRX is prob almost as quick as an STi.

Always take RWD cars out of the the hole? maybe with stock tires, but I know from a fact you trough some stickies on a foxbody mustang like stated above you you can launch at around 4000 and have the perfect amount of spin to be fender to fender. Those moostangs should be in the low 13's like stated before down in the 11's and 12's if the had heads too. You can get a gears exhaust stickies 87-88 to run bottom 14's. You always have to remember the most important mod is the driver mod.
