Allrighty, so, I was at this red light in Norwell, I never get down there but I was there anyway. I see this VR6 Jetta, lowered, and with an exhaust. It wasn't slammed, and it didn't have a fart pipe, I glanced at him and shifted into first, and he did the same. Light goes green and it's all go. He launched pretty well, but I was a tiny bit quicker and his bumper was pretty much level with my b-pillar the whole way until this ******* retard of a woman on a cell phone just pulled out into the road. We were both hard on the brakes and there was no danger of any sort of collision, but we rolled past her and to the next light where we stopped and put our windows down. It was a good, clean race and we congratulated each other because stock engines, the Jetta should have won. He had way better tires than I did, which is why he didn't just smoke them at the start, and then we rolled off. There was traffic ahead of us so we didn't really go for it again, and it was all good.

He didn't drop back at all. The stock VR6 motor isn't as tuneable as the 1.8t, but it has a little bit more power and the car is lighter. Plus, no AWD losses in his car

 

those v-6 motors have alot of tourque! my girlfriend has it in her jetta... it's an automatic and the gearing really doens't let down either... it just keeps pulling and pulling... i was like damn hunny! slow down! lol

 

One of the things I've always loved about the VR6 is how Volkswagen refered to it as their "inline V6"
