I like my audi, but let me say.

A stock m3 will more than barely edge out an s4. Goto the track, modded s4 lap times are usually worse than stock m3s.

I raced an s4 in this weekend in the 540i auto, and let me say I embaressed it.

 

scottycs, you were driving a540i, and you 'embarrased' an s4? The 540 is like 14.8 quarter time. The s4 is a low 14sec/high 13sec quarter...stock. There is no way, unless you have an 06 540, that you embarrased an s4. I don't want to start anything, but if both cars were stock, he would have embarrased you.

 

S4 do run low 14s, because of their great grip, but look at their trap trap speeds (usually not even 100). Where as most 540i's trap over 100, the 540i is mildly modded to. Unless you driven both or are familiar with both cars (which you are not) I think you should sit down. They don't even make a 06 540, its called a 545. Also, I was at the 1/8th mile 2 weeks ago, an s4 there was pulling 9.8s, which is pretty shitty.

I bought my A4 thinking it had potentinal to be modded. Even with a APR state 3 kit it would still be slower than my 3 [&:]

Quarter Mile 14.39 @ 96.60 MPH
stock s4:
Quarter Mile 14.16 @ 97.91 MPH

You're right. I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.
And I have driven an s4, and ridden in a 540i. I was not very impressed with either of them.

I am not trying to start anything, but your 540i must be VERY mildly modded to 'embarrass' an s4. I have no doubt that you could have done it, maybe our terms of embarras are just a little different. I consider an embarrasment a honda civic cx trying to race a wrx. But that is just me. I guess if you just pull half a car length through two gears that is an embarrassment to you.
Oh, and I have driven m3's before(my uncle owns a 99 and a 04) and it would embarras a stock s4.

The 540 is even an auto!!

 

whatever, I dont care what you think...you can post whatever you want on this site....its up to the readers to believe what they want. Next I'm sure we'll be hearing how you raced a stock z07 and embarrased him.
...oh, and those are car and driver quarter times....dont believe me? go check their website....and I'm not saying you didn't beat an s4, I just don't believe you embarrassed one. And I don't call software a mild mod....more like intake and exhaust.
