197 on the new si's
160 on the old SI's

Remember Hp alone doesn't mean fast. Gearing, weight, ability to put traction down, power band, how generous the dyno was for the claimed hp amount, engine internals weight and ability of engine to rev and other crap can mean a hell of a lot more then than hp alone. The new Si is quick but not fast. It's a good lil car for what it is and handles pretty damn well for FWD. Don't underestimate em on the straight or in the twisties.

^110% Agree...Do you all remember the 1992 GMC Cyclone? This was a 275 HP 4.3L V6 with a turbo and an intercooler. Not really that much HP for a rig weighing in at close to 4600lbs. Thing is, it puts down close to 380 ft. lbs. of torque. Was rated the fastest production SUV on the planet. Does 0-60 in 5 seconds flat, and oh BTW, its AWD. It took close to another 13 years for another SUV to even come close and it was the creation of the Jeep SRT8 and the Porsche Cayenne Turbo. Torque is where the rubber meets the road. Jacking up HP means nothing. Why do you think the guys with deisel trucks are tearing it up. A few MODS and they are killers on the street. Mobs of torque.

^ Cyclones don't weigh anywhere near 4,600 lbs. But yes, they are some quick little f*(kers.

prbayha, the cyclone was a quick suv, but it was only very quick off of the line bc it was awd. It wasa 13.0 at 100mph. So it had a very good launch and was not so fast uptop. It was roughly the same speed on the street as ans2000, which is by no means slow, but notreally fast.A friend of mine is high school actually had a white one, and it definitely would get up and go from a dig though.
And it seems like to me that the only reason no otherquick suv's were built is because the demand wasn't there. Most peoplethat can afford them would rather have a sports car.

This line is straight off the factory brochure: 280hp (209kW) and 360ft·lbf (488N·m)
Car and Driver: Car and Driver was impressed, comparing the Syclone's performance favorably to the Ferrari 348ts, Chevrolet Corvette, and Nissan 300ZX Turbo. It was a bargain at US$29,970, though the magazine criticized the plasticky interior pieces.

Remeber this is stock. Not modded. Anyways...who f***ing cares right? Next topic.
