A4 Eibach Sport Springs on an S4?
Hey all - I found quite a good deal on some Eibach sport springs for a B5 A4 Quattro. I have a B5 S4, and I was wondering if I could slap these on with my struts, and if they would work? I tried to do some research on it, but search cuts out any words with 2 or less letters, so B5-A4-B5-S4 were all taken out, and it wouldnt get me anywhere.. anyone know the deal?
I'm using S4 springs on a 2.8 A4 with zero issues and about a finger-width less ride height. I'd bet the Eibachs for an A4 would work just fine on the S4. I wouldn't want to use stock A4 springs on the S4 since the coils are far taller and thinner than the S4's coils, but since the Eibachs are aftermarket, made for better handling, and sit lower, they'd likely work just fine. How much they'd lower the car, I don't know - maybe a bit, maybe not (it seems that the struts on the S4 are mostly responsible for the difference in ride height between S4 and non-sport A4, from what I see on my car), but as for them physically fitting and functioning, I don't think you'd have a problem at all - it just may not be much of an upgrade for you in terms of lowering the car or increasing roll resistance.
The ride is firm, but very nice and controlled - it's "German", I guess you could say - it's what I always thought a German car should ride like. It's a big improvement in handling as well. Maybe Hiwords will chime in here too - he recently installed them on his non-sport A4 2.8 as well. In short though, it's a great upgrade for the ride and handling of your car. It will only lower you about a finger width, so don't expect them to make you low, but they will definitely make you handle better.
sooo... can i take aftermarket springs from an B5 A4 and put them on my B5 S4 struts? I dont care about the height, im asking if it is physically possible without any other modifications to anything.... now does anyone have something that resembles ann answer? haha
