Default Front tire detaching from car...

My 2007 A4 was recently totaled as a result of my drivers side front tire coming completely off and slamming into a tree. I was told that there was a tear in my front bushing when I received 2 new rear tires on 10/31/13 which was more than a month after purchasing 2 new front tires and having a wheel alignment which was completed in September 2013.

The entire incident occurred on 11/26/13 ( day before Thanksgiving), while my car was being delivered to my home by a porter from the service department after replacing a broken sun visor clip that was broken during service on 10/31.

I have not received an answer as to what caused this to happen and I never heard any noises which previous threads mentioned. This has been quite an ordeal leading me to ask....can a year in the upper right bushing cause the tire to come completely off of a car with 68,000 miles and receiving all service at one location?

I'll bet the tire didn't come off. The tire is the black rubber thingie that surrounds the wheel. The wheel bolts onto the car.

I had a wheel come off a car once. Front wheel just fell off while I was making a turn. Fortunately a very slow turn. Apparently the ball joint let go, which would have been impossible except the cotter pin that's there to ensure the nut can't come off the bolt holding it in, wasn't there.

And good luck proving why it might not be there.

Anyone lately suggest you see a lawyer?
