Default would chinese ebay vagcom cables work on a 02 2.7t

i think its time i buy my own code reader of some sort. i have the free vag com software downloaded i just need some cables. i have 2 a6's one is a 2001 2.8 fwd and one is a 02 2.7t. i read in some forums the ebay cables will not work with the 2002+ models but will work with the 2001. is this corect? also can someone recommend who i should buy from? (the cables). there are lots of them and i dont know which is the one for my cars.

Save yourself a lot of grief and just purchase the VAG-COM cable from Ross-Tech. It is the only one that works correctly and allows you to access all of the controllers for all Audi's. And they have excellent service. They spend a lot of time and money keeping the software up to date.

People that purchase the cheap Chinese knockoffs always seem to be disappointed with the operation. Either they require hacking the operating system and drivers or they do not access a problematic module.
