Anyone running asmog questionable tune in Irvine should look out around the Spectrum. The emissions gestapo was out with their van and remote exhaust gas spectroscopy equipment on the Northbound 405 on ramp at Irvine Center Drive.

 

do they actually issue tickets? wow.. good looking out.

I see one of those on the 15 S / 91 E interchange every several months

 

I've been told they don't issue tickets. And they just inform you that you have problem etc, I actually don't know what their true purpose is.

 

there true purpose is to make money there hoping by issuing you a strongly worded letter that you'll piis in your pants and either A) sell your car an buy a new one or B) run out to your local smog shop and spend 12 thousand dollars getting your s**t fixed. SO either way it brings money into Irvine, plus much like tagging an animal your car has been tagged and they will probably start harrassing you until you do something. just my take on it. And I'm not bitter it just pisses me off.
