Default SoCal Group Maintenance Sessions

After all the talk of timing belts in one of the upcoming gtg threads, I thought it might be good for us to have a thread where we can post a sort of help wanted request for maintenance/mod jobs that we haven't done before. We can all pool knowledge together to get these jobs done quickly, and have a few beers in the process.

The way I see it, we can all give a little and get a little out of this: you help me with my job and I'll help you with your job.

I'm going to do my first timing belt next weekend, probably Saturday. Anyone that wants to come figure it out with me or drop some knowledge is more than welcome. I'll buy beer and bbq stuff. Who's in?

Feel free to post up any maintenance or mods you're looking for help with and lets get them scheduled in.

^nah man the point of this is to get people to collaborate on these projects at someone's house, not to post tips. you said you want to do a timing belt too right? lets get a date set for it and get it taken care of

Im down.... just get a Bentley manual or something to show how its done, and it will get taken car of. I have majority of the tools at my pad for when i did my own engine head rebuild on my Toyota pickup, and that was using the Hanes manual with no prior knowledge. Im just mechanically inclined like that. lol

I've got a bently manual and the tools, I just need some decent weather. It's supposed to clear up during the middle of the week and then start raining again this weekend. ****'s weak. I need to get this done.

I've got rotors and pads on the way, a test pipe that needs to be installed, a magnaflow muffler that needs piping from the dp back welded up, a timing belt to redo, and a boost gauge pod on the way.

I NEED BETTER WEATHER!!

This sounds like a great idea, I'm sure Team J&D or J&D Motorsports will step in.

Question, is $500 for a set of new rotors (front and rear), slotted and dimpled a good price?
