Default 98 A6 - can't get rear rotors/wheels on

So, I just got this car a little bit ago and am replacing the brakes. I got the front rotors and pads on and the wheels seem to go on (I haven't put them on yet).

I'm having real problems with the fronts. I have 17" stock wheels. The rotors I took of were the small ones, 9.63". The ones I got are the correct ones, 10.04"

I can barely get the holes to line up and when I try and put the wheel on I can't get anything to work for the lugs to go on.

Any help?

those look like the wrong rotors, lay them down next to what you took off and I bet the offset is different. Not sure why you thought what you took off was the wrong size and went with a larger size? Looks like you need the smaller dia. ones.

yeah, I know what you mean. I put small ones on and worked out fine. The dumb part is that the bigger ones are supposed to fit 17" wheels. so either the wheels I have didn't come with this car (even though the fronts fit fine), or they replaced the rear spindles and stuff. Lame.
