different tire size

My wifes car is in Germany so I cant look for myself, so sorry in advance. She has an 07 a3 with 225/45-17's on stock rims 17 x 7.5 I think. I found a brand new set of blizzack winter tires that are 245/45-17. They still have the stickers on them and the guy wants $350 for them. I guess the germans are pretty strict about tires not sticking out past the fenders, so my question is will the extra .5" stick out or rub on the inside of the fender?

Any other issues with that tire size on her car? Thanks much!
