new member 1st post tire question
I am a new member as of a few minutes ago. My wife and I just bought a 'new' Audi A4 2.0T (2008) for her just a few days ago. She fell in love the second she saw it on the lot. Trying to take advantage of summer deals and planning for winter here in Alaska, I am trying to set her up with a new set of wheels with snow tires. I have a few questions that I hope can be answered to put my mind at ease.
She currently has the stock 235/45 r17 wheels on it. I found a good deal on a set of 2005 A4 17 inch wheels with worn tires of the same size. My goal is to remove the old tires and replace them with some snow tires I also picked up for a good deal. My question is this; Will these rims fit on my Audi and the tires I got are a little smaller 225/45 r17, will these still work?
Also if I don't put TPMS sensors in the winter wheels, is the tpms warning only a light on the dash or is it a constant beeping noise like I had in my older vehicle a VW Touareg? Will it hurt anything to drive them without the sensors?
I know it is a lot of questions but any help and information would be appreciated?

The difference between the 235/45R17 and 225/45R17 is so minimal that I don't even think you would notice it. It should work fine on your the Audi. Also, most A4 wheels I've seen are interchangeable between those years. At least the bolt pattern and center bore are identical.
You can do without the TPMS sensors but like you mentioned the dash light will stay illuminated and there is usually a chime at start up. It's no damage to the vehicle.
