Default Winter Tires

I just purchased a CPO 2011 A4 Quattro and am looking for the best winter tire set up for this vehicle. I have Blizzak WS70's on two other front wheel drive cars and they work well but seem to show wear quickly. I was also looking at 2 Michelin tires. The Xice X13 and the Pilot Alpine PA2 ZP. In the surveys the Xice beats the WS70 in every catagory but deep snow. TireRack doesn't show any surveys for thePA2's but two interesting details are that the tread depth falls between the other two and they are around 10Lbs heavier per tire.
Any thoughts?

Also there seem to be 2 choices for winter wheel offsets 35mm and 45mm. Not sure which to choose

I talked with a Tirerack rep and he said either the 45mm or 35mm offset will work on the A4. The stock wheels are 45mm and the 35mm's will stick out a tad further but it's pretty minimal. I ended up ordering the Blizzak WS70's just becaus I have had them on other cars and I know they work great in the nasty stuff.
