If you are real impatient youcan cut as much of the ground as you can and put it to the nut holding down your spare tire haha. But I would try to get to the original connection

Hmmm...You checked the fuse on the amp and the inline fuse under the hood? Did you check the battery connection? Also try keeping the power on and touching the ground to different metal points

Check the fuse on the power wire to the amp.

start with the fuse in the front then the one on the amp the ground should be good cause i have mine grounded to the bolt holding that clip that holds the carpet ill bet its the remote wire i have the same problem putting my amp in last time got power but then shut off and turned out to be a loose connection of the remote wire so check that too

all fuses are good, i double checked them.

the problem with the remote wire is that its on my head unit, and i have no idea how to get the new one out lol. for that indash kit for 99 b5 a4's for aftermarket head units, is there a key for them??

or do i have to take the dash apart??
and how simple is that?? lol

Is it grounded to bare metal or painted surfaces? If they're painted, that'll easily give you the weak ground. The metal underneath the ground ideally should be sanded or at least scraped clear to give you straight contact with bare metal. If tha'ts not feasible due to location, find another bolt or mount for the ground, scuff through any coatings, down to bare metal, and reground the amp.
