i dont yet have an Audi
im currently in iraq and have always wanted a Audi A4 02-05 body style.
ive been searching online for A4's for the past few months for when i get back in June to have a price range set.
My question is what are the most common problems with 2002-2005 A4's and what should replace and get looked at when and after i buy my Audi

Welcome to the forums.
I see that you're interested in the B6 body style.
Basically in the US, there are two different types of engines: 1.8T and 3.0. If you're looking to modify the car, the 1.8T is the way to go since there are many parts available and it's a lot more attainable. Of course the 3.0 is more reliable (this is arguable) but there are so many parts that are available for the engine.
Oil sludge is a common problem with these cars. Also you need to ask if the timing belt has been replaced before you purchased your car (usually changed around 60-80K). This particular job would cost somewhere around $500 to $1000+ depending on where you get it done.
Looking forward to seeing you around the forums and once again, welcome to AF!

I do plan on getting the 1.8t only cause its the most common for sale. I also plan on working on it the normal mods like suspention, wheels, kit, brakes, so my question is when it comes to motor work like upgraded turbos and internals and what i can pretty much do to make it faster with out ripping out the motor. ive work/modified cars for a while now but most of them where hondas.. i still love hondas but i think its time to step up the game to the "real" euro world and plant my feet into an audi.
