I see there is a stratmosphere intake, and another of similar design on motodynes web site..

It does not look like it would perform better than the stock air box,
Currently air is ramped in through the plastic scoop that extends to the front grille...
this cone thing would be sucking air straight from the engine bay, which is very h0t with a snug alumini v8--
they claim horspeower gains of 10+
I hope I am wrong, becausse i like the way it looks..please tell me if any one has installed this and their opinions...

Ive heard of people that like them of their S4's

 

I just put a hole in the bottom of my airbox and some netting over it. Took out the filter and put in a Shiny new K&N intake. works great.

 

Well to start if your talking about the B6 S4, which i think you are, then that 10HP that they claim is only at red-line. In-fact your gonna have to rev past 5000 to get more than 1 or 2 HP. So below 5000 you wont feel any difference at all with the Strat intake. Personally i like mods that improve HP and TQ across the board. I have an HKS dome type and it seems to really help flow through - however I take a noticle hit on 90deg + days. Perhaps this isn't unusual and I guess it is expected - but I wonder if I'm suffering by sucking that engine bay air vs outside. I don't know what stock would be like as I bought the car with this setup and have never experienced stock...all I know is that the car goes (better then a completely stock) and even when I set my old APR chip to stock setting...
