Default Ignition coil and crank signal question

How many ignition coils does a 96 Audi A4 Quattro 2.8 12v have??? Also, is the crank signal inductive or something else? Thanks

Ahh Mance answered for you on the 12V forum. I stand corrected. In case anyone else needed to know - 3 coils.
