Default Need some advice

Afternoon guys, I need some advice...once again its my 98 A4 2.8l ..I know for a fact that my both
valve cover gaskets are gone (leaking oil) as well the Oil pan is leaking oil..I was planning a good tear down of the car this weekend, and replace all the gaskets...anything I have to know before hand, before I start unscrewing bolts and remove the plugs, and wires????

Thank once again...if there is any diagram that would be excellent.
or even pictures.

first off you need to know where the oil leak is to save money a steam clean is a good idea or jet wash if you have to then run the engine and watch for the leak, a digi cam is a worth while investmentthen post your pictures

yeah, clean it down real well. I've seen a few times where oil was leaking from the valve cover gaskets and making it appear as if the oil pan gasket was leaking, I always work on the top end first, clean the oil pan off, and then see if the problem persists down low, if it does then I change the oil pan gasket.

I actually need to do my valve cover gaskets as well, you should take some pics, so I can see how it goes for ya! (I know they're fairly easy to do on these, I just like seeing other people work).

And of course, take your time and label everything. I for one usually get something plugged in wrong then have to stay up all night trying to figure out wtf I screwed up. I'd like to know how it goes as well, since I have a myriad of things I should be doing under the hood. But it's cold as a witches you know what here in MN... I knew the 30's wouldn't last forever!
