Default Short Shifters any Good?

I am thinking of getting a Short Shifter from either Dieselgeek or Neuspeed and was
wondering if anyone out there has any pro and con experience with either of those.
I don't want to mess with the B&M short shifter since you have to take almost the
entire consul apart and take the exhaust off to do it. Therefore the other bracket
kits seem to be the better choice.
Just wondering if anyone that has them likes them.

Thank you!

Default B&M vs Neuspeed type shifters

Okay you may not need to take the consol totally apart but on the TT I heard that you have to take part of the exhaust off
to install the B&M type short shifter. That's why I was considering the Neuspeed or Dieselgeeks type shifter since it doesn't
mess with the consol at all but rather replaces the bracket where the shifter linkage is connected to. This is a whole lot easier
to install since I can just remove the airbox and have full access to the shifter bracket.

My primary question to you guys is was the short shifter regardless of which kind worth it?
Did it make a difference on how your car felt. What are some of the pros and cons of the short shifter?

Thanks guys for your input. If you could give me some answers on how you like the short shifters that would be GREAT :-)

Okay, I have ordered and installed the Dieselgeek Short Shifter. http://www.dieselgeek.com/AudiTT_SS.php
and all I can say is WOW!!... Car now shifts a lot more precise with a positive feel at gear engagement.
It cut the throw by about 30-35%. It feels a lot more solid, kinda like a Porsche or Ferrari.
I would recommend this mod to anyone that is thinking about it

Rather than create a new thread, I'm gonna piggyback on this related one.... Hope you don't mind Tom

Just got my TT 2 weeks ago and the throw on the shifter is driving me crazy. I had the B&M short shifter on my 00celica so I'm a little spoiled with having a shorter throw.

I'm going to get a new shifter but I figured I'd benefit from the collective mind which I should go with. I would appreciate any reviews on the Neuspeed, Dieselgeek or B&M shifter that anyone can provide. Specifically on how difficult it was to install.

Links to "How To's" would also be welcome as this new TT owner doesnt know the essential TT sites to visit.

Thanks for your time!

Here are the installation instructions on the Dieselgeek unit:
http://www.dieselgeek.com/Ultrasixinstall.htm
Pretty easy actually. It actually swaps out the mechanism not the shifter.
Same as the Neuspeed unit only the Neuspeed only adjusts for forward and backward.
The Dieselgeek adjusts both Side by side and front and back.
The B&M is much more difficult to install and requires you to take off part of the exhaust system
to get to the shifter part. Somehow I heard you have to acess it from underneath the car.
Not sure tho.

Good luck

Tom

I just went to B&Ms website and read the instructions. Nothing about removing the exhaust in the 16 pages. I think a complete unit like the B&Ms is way better than these hokey half *** kits. I hat my UUC, it is garbage. B&M has been around for decades and they build awesome stuff for my Mustangs. Just my .02. I think I am switching to the B&M.
