Default Looking for advice on short shifters

I'm convinced I need to go to a short shifter on my S4 as I'm not happy with the play and vaugness of the shift gates in the factory shifter. I have no real experience with aftermarket short shifters. My 330 has a BMW short shifter (not sure the make if its something other) and I love it - I like the preciseness and the click into the gates. I searched this site and only saw a bit on the Tanoga shifter - not much though - and this shifter has been recommended to me by a rep from AWE. I've also had folks recommend the UUC (the AWE guy said they moved form UUC to Tanogo because of quality control problems with UUC)...so what I'm hoping for are for some recommendations from folks based on their experience.

Well - I still feel that I don't know enough - (though I did check the posts on the Audizine site however - and some timely/recent ones at that)...I'd like to check some out. Never heard of this toy something or other - but for some reason folks seem to like it and its aprently very hard to get...I'm probablyleaning toward a Tonoga - because I know where I can get it and get it installed (I'm no mechanic...) - but not really sure at the moment....

Hey thanks again - actually I had seen this site a ways back and didn't put two & two together. In some ways the Toy Guy shifter seems the way to go (as folks report being overwhelmingly happy with it - and there seems to be lots of options with amount of reduction - etc). I'm personally less interested in the reduction then just eliminating the mushyness...but I do like shorter throws....so I am planning to make some inquiries and see what I can get...

Well I've had no luck getting through to ToyGuy...though I notice he has updated his web site recently. So I was going to go with Tanoga...but the AWE rep says (fit) problems with Tanoga and my early 2001 S4...so they recommend B&M. B&M has been around a while - but I've seen few comments from any Audi B&M owners...seems like a good solid unit...offered in 11, 25 & 35 reduction...I'm thinking 25 might be fine - but am tempted to go the 35...any comments/suggestions?

BTW - I may get it put in tommorw....dependent on any input here (I know its 11th hour)...and some more searching and talking with folks...
