96 2.8 oil pump question
recently, my oil pump took at ****. I was wondering, what id have to take apart to get to the oil pump. I heard id would have to drop the oil pan which is no big deal, just i want to make sure. I basicly have a garage at my house(hoiest n all). Also, where would you recommend buying the pump from?
Thanks,
Keith

You can take off the lower oil pan (easy) and change the pumps on some 2.8L engines, there are others (newer 2.8L engines) that you have to remove the upper oil pan which is very hard to do. Most likely you can just take off the lower oil pan and get it out with out too much trouble.
I would get the pump from either the dealer, or online at www.ecstuning.com or www.purems.com

It seems most places don't carry those pumps because of the price. Here's the cheapest place I could find it keeping in mind that the manufacturer is still agood well knownname.
