Default Window Switches

Anybody else having issues with their window switches bubbling/peeling? These are the switches on my drivers door?

The loaners I've seen all have that, but so far so good for my car. Knowing of this, I try to keep my hands relatively clean before getting into my car. That decal/coating is that semi-rubbery feeling stuff I hate that you can tell will eventually wear...same with the headlight switch area and steering wheel controls...they shoulda just stuck with solid black plastic.

Had that happen on my 2002 A4 after about a year. Had them replaced under warranty.

I have the same problem on mine.[:'(] Also, the passenger's window switch doesn't work at all. I'm heading in for service in 3k miles and plan on having them fix it all.

Cheers!

I wish they woulda

My gf's 06 Jetta is doing the same thing (except on the radio buttons). Taking her car in on Tuesday to have the VW service dept check it out (along with the rear passenger outside door panel coming off, anda tail light already out, and the trunk latch/sensor is messing up), and then taking mine in to the Audi service dept (luckily they are 2 diff dealerships so I will get a chance to check out the differences between the 2) on Wed so they can 'confirm' this issue and get the switches replaced under warranty.

Funny how a lot of people rag on American cars for being cheap and plastic-y. Since 98 I my family has had the following (none of which had any problems)
Me:
98 Mustang
01 F150
03 F150

Ex Wife:
01 Explorer

Parents:
2 Explorers, 1 Sport track, and 1 Ranger

(I work for Hertz, which until last year was owned by Ford)

***Disclaimer*** I am in no way, ragging on VW/Audi. I love my car and would buy another. I was just making a statement.

I have a touch of peeling paint or whatever on the handle to the center armrest. I may ask the service guy about it - already going in on the 17th for some minor warranty stuff.

The door lock buttons on my 06 A3 bubbled up and eventually started peeling down to the white plastic. I took it to the Audi dealer and they replaced it under warranty.

Default Solution for Peeling buttons

I own an interior reconditioning Manufacturing company. We manufacture the graphics needed to repair stereos, AC units and door consoles The cost is low to repair and it is permanent. We are selling to over 80 technicians who do these repairs daily for dealers. We are just now introducing these repair graphics to the public on our ebay store for those who would like to do it themselves. As part of the listing for each set of graphics we have a link to a youtube video showing how to do the process. Check out our ebay store here: http://stores.ebay.com/IW-GRAPHICS

Over on the Vortex forum, folks with R32's are fitting buttons out of, I believe, Passats. I'm going to look into what, if any, other VW/Audi buttons fit our A3's.
