K03/K04 hybrid questions
Im real sorry guys, I've done some looking (first) and I havent found a clear answer to my question. Exactly what constitutes a K03/K04 hybrid? Is it just a k03 with a k04 center? what else goes into these hybrids?
any help is appreciated.

I found both k04 centers for 875 shipped. I also found a company that would balance the turbo's for $65 pc. I cant imagine theexhaust turbine being to expensive so...
why dont people make their own hybrids? apprears to me that it shouldnt cost over $1100 if you are already removing your stock k03's.

Have you tried this yet? I was thinking the same so I talked to a ebay company selling k04 center assemblies, they told me the k03 housing need some machining before it would fit.
Now I just wonder how much machining is necessary and if its a DIY.?

to fit in a larger compressor wheel you have to machine the turbo housing. Keep in mind its only on the hot side too. You can have this done but if they are even a few degrees out of balance the turbo will blow immedietly upon startup.
You might be able to buy some blown K04's for little money, then replace the centers with new ones all for less than k04's. Use non-OEM inlets like ebay or 034 to save some money, and then sell k03's to make back some more of the money...
