Default 1994 Audi 100 CS Heater Core bypass issue

First i want to say thanks for having a place to discuss all of these issues...

secondly i'll discuss the issues..

My heater core evidently blew out last friday, causes hot steam to blow thru the vents and leaking water and antifreeze down by my gas pedal. Luckily i was only a mile from home and there was a mechanic shop 200 ft from where it happened. So I just parked the car in their lot so they could take a look on monday. The mechanic says around 6.2 hrs of labor to get the dash out etc...around 600 bucks to get it fixed.

After all the research i've down so far on audiforums and audiworld and even quattroworld so far i can believe that.

I dont have the funds to get it fixed right now, im in south central us so i have a little while until it gets cold so I want to bypass it. The mechanic said he could do it worse case he would have to cut the hoses, but I figured I could prob get it done and save me some cash...but it seems I am already running into a problem. I cannot for the life of me get the hoses out. There doesn't seem to be any wiggle room at all. I am supplying some pictures so maybe someone with a different year or similar set-up can help me with this as I would be greatly in debt to you.

I have the clamps loose, trying to get hose to wiggle and slip off isn't easy, there just isnt room to pull...and they seem to have stuck pretty good from electrolysis and whatever...i've been trying to use a flathead and lift on the inner part a little, but to no avail.

This is a good time to mention I have never done this before, but since i got this car at an auction for 600 bucks two years ago I am trying not to sink much into it.

the first pic u can see the two hoses underneath the round object, which the top hose goes into that fitting, then to the valve. There is a phillips screw that the round thing is attached to the blower adjacently. But i cant get the screw loose so I can pull it out either.

the pic below shows where the hoses come out through the first firewall...

the rest are different angles and views so u can get a feel for size

I hope this helps, thanks in advance for any help or other advice as to what my options are at this point
