I noticed after I bought the car, that once in a while (seems to always be after I've been driving for quite a while) the transmission will give me a real hard shift from 1st to 2nd. And from 2nd to 1st. It will do this from 1st to 2nd for a few minutes, and then it will go back to shifting smoothly. Can anyone give me any ideas on this issue? I've checked the trans fluid and it looks good, good red color and doesn't smell burnt at all. Thanks again!

Sticking valves slamming to the next stage, whether to the next valve or the next cannelure of that valve.

Indicates need for a good cleaning, a tranny fluid change, maybe, if anyone can tell me if they actually work, a pressure flush.

Whether you pull or have pulled the valve body and clean all the valves, is up to you.
