back up light switch 5000Q

Good morning people in Audi land! Can someone please tell me where the backup light switch is, for my 1987 Audi 5000Q S (automatic)is, is it mounted on the brake master cylinder or on the shifter assembly?

It could only be on one of two places, shifter or the transmission.
