i just bought the car a few days ago, and i had come back out of a store and tried to open the drivers door, but it would not unlock. the rest of the doors work fine. when i turn the key, the lock button comes up like it is disengaging, however the door handles, both inner and outer, behave like it is still locked. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum jneibling!

There you will find a forum vocab list, an Audi forum terminology list and an Audi lexicon list. They should be very helpful to you if you're not familiar with the jargon.

Please feel free to ask any question, but double check the archives first. Many questions have been archived and, quite often, the answers are comprehensive.

It sounds like a mechanical problem; like the linkage between the lock and the door release are no longer linked.
