Default My audi won't start

Can someone help me?
I just got a 87 Audi 5000cs turbo. The battery was dead due to a faulty alt. I charged the battery and the car started right up. Once I shut it down the alarm system went off. Now I cant get it to crank with the key. I can cross the solenoid and it will start.
I've replaced the relays and bypassed the neutral safty switch.
I'm getting juice to the relay box from the ign switch.
I realy like this car and don't want to junk it. Please help!!!!!!!

Did you check to see if the alarm has an ignition cut off, my 86 5000s does?

I have a 91 1CQ and had something similar happen to me once but it happened a long time ago. Try closing the door and lock it with the key until you hear the alarm “beepâ€. Unlock with a key and turn the ignition on. I think there is some sort of a sequence you have to go through in order to start the ignition.

Thanks guys your the greatest! After looking for the alarm system I found someone had put a aftermarket one in. I disconected it and it starts fine.
Now the yellow engine light is on. What dose this mean? Are there any troble codes I can get out of this, if so how?
Thanks again.
