Am settling up with the insurance company after my '01 allroad was totaled (bought an '05 4.2L to replace it, hope I don't regret the additional bucks!). The valuation includes a $500 deduction for a "6 speed transmission."

After that deduction, there is an addback for $150 for automatic transmission. So my interpretation is that they're saying there was a 6 speed automatic transmission (and must have been a 7 or 8 speed to in order to have a $500 deduction for the 6 speed????).

It was an automatic, unfortunately, I don't have a picture of the gear shifter, but after speaking with Audi USA customer care, looking through my owner's manual, and googling 2001 allroad transmission, all I can come up with is that there were only 2 options for transmissions on the allroads: a 5 speed tiptronic automatic (which is what I'm assuming what I had) and a 6 speed manual transmission. Unfortunately, when dealing with just level 1 of Audi customer care, they say they don't have anything in print to prove there were just the two transmission options.

Does anyone who's really into the allroads care to back me up? I'd just prefer to have a little more confirmation before I start to get testy with my adjuster!

Those are the only 2 options

 

Ditto...the only 2 options offered were the 5 speed Tip and the 6 speed manual.
