Desperate to get Sirrius in my wife's Allroad. The head unit has a SAT button but according to the dealer the car isn't wired for it. What are my options? At this point i don't care if i have to loose the factory head unit but would prefer not to. Thanks.

sportster
is anyone using something like the Sirrius sportster. I want to know if these work decently if they are wired directly to the antenna. (this is an option with an adapter)

My 04 has the Bose system with the SAT button. If i push the button, i get the sirrius 800 number scrolling across the display as well as the radio code for my car. the dealer said all i had to do was to call sirrius and give them the car's code and it should work.

I have a 03 Allroad A6 that I installed a Sportster % through the radios audio system and power on system. You need a seperate antenna for the Sirius.
But if your radio has a 800 # on display on the radio it allready installed in your car just call the # to activate and bargan to pay less

Sat
Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately the Allroad in question has a SAT button on the radio but it doesn't bring up anything. It is not pre wired at all. If it were it would be easy but the dealer checked before and i have since double checked. I ended up having a dock and play wired directly for power and i'm using a casette adapter which i find painfully cheesy but it works well and it eliminates ever searching for an FM signal. Just the worst combination on the car, no pre wiring and a head unit with no Auxilary jacks-other than the ungainly casette.
